Upstream & Onward Annual Fundraiser Recap

Another beautiful sunset met the attendees of our annual gala last month. We were very fortunate to welcome the sun after a week of much-needed rain. The evening was full of new faces and friends eager to learn more about OAR’s mission and get involved. OAR’s work touches our community in a significant way, and we recruited new volunteers and donors as they heard our testimony. 

We welcomed our keynote speaker, Kareem Hester, and he shared his experience navigating our justice system and how critical the reentry services OAR offered were to his success. 

With staff, volunteers, interns, and supporter families gathered together, we were able to converse about our vision of creating a more just and equitable community by addressing upstream issues that keep us all (including our tax dollars) caught in a cycle. We hope that every time we gather, we get a little closer to that vision. We take these connections and conversations out into our circles, and we share the success stories and vision for how things can be. One step at a time. This is how change happens.
