OAR Offers Internships

hands-on work experience

OAR offers internships to students 18 years or older who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.  Students must earn credits for their internship hours to qualify.  With opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students, OAR offers opportunities in the following areas. 

Re-entry and Family Services (RFS)

Perform client intakes and assessments; provide case management services; maintain agency files; maintain relationships with community partners; assist with client employment services including career coaching, job search and resume development.

Jail Programs

Must be 21. Assist with administrative duties, answering inmate requests, and enrolling clients in jail programs. Shadow and co-facilitate classes held in the adult detention center.

Court Programs

Perform client intakes and assessments; provide case management services; maintain agency and court paperwork; maintain relationships with criminal justice agency officials.

Violence Intervention Program

Perform client intakes and assessments; provide case management services; maintain agency files; maintain relationships with community partners; facilitate successful completion of program requirements.

Volunteer Programs

Assist with volunteer recruitment and volunteer appreciation events. Gain nonprofit management experience through data entry, front desk duties, and leading information sessions.
