Please enjoy some of the photos from the event.

We look forward to seeing you again next year!

2017 OAR Volunteer Appreciation Night

OAR staff, volunteers, and supporters gathered on Wednesday, October 25th to honor the OAR volunteers that give so generously of their time in support of the OAR mission.

Over 40 OAR volunteers were able to join the celebration.  The guests enjoyed appetizers from Dolce Vita, a presentation of awards, the personal testimony from an OAR client, and closing remarks by OAR’s Executive Director Derwin Overton.

All volunteers were provided with a certificate acknowledging thier total contribution of volunteer hours.  Those volunteers reaching identified levels of services were provided with bench mark awards.  OAR volunteer Linda Grill was provided with a bench mark award for providing over 2,250 hours of service.  We can’t thank Linda and all of our volunteers enough.  We could not meet the needs of those we serve without their support.  They are superheroes in our eyes!  And, as OAR Executive Director, Derwin Overton stated, OAR volunteers do extrodinary things everyday.

Carlos Valdez shared his story with everyone in attendance.  Carlos originally sought services from OAR about 10 years ago.  He has completely turned his life around and he shared his journey from criminal activity and incarceration to amazing success.  His story allowed all of the OAR volunteer to see how their efforts today can have a profound impact on someone’s life.

OAR extends a sincere thank you to all of our volunteers.  Their service to our mission is invaluable.
